Ennis Community College (ECC) offers a range of PLC and continuing education courses as follows:
IATI Accounting Technician Course, certified by the Institute ofAccounting Technicians in Ireland FETAC, the Further Education and Training Awards Council(FETAC), certify all other courses. Our courses are designed to cater for the needs of both recent Leaving Certificate students and mature students who may wish to acquire additional skills and training in certain vocational areas.
Our courses not only offer certification for people seeking employment but also a progression pathway to many third level courses through the Higher Education Links Scheme. Those interested in the latter may choose from a limited number of places in the universities and institutions of technology reserved for students who obtain a FETAC Level 5 award.
ASSESSMENT
Continuous assessment takes place on all PLC courses. Work produced throughout the year such as projects, assignments and so on will be graded and will count towards final assessment. The staff ECC staff are highly qualified and
dedicated to high academic achievement.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Work experience forms an integral part of all FETAC Level 5 award courses. Students are placed in an environment that relates specifically to the course options chosen by them.
CAREER GUIDANCE COUNSELLING SERVICES
Students can avail of professional guidance and advice from the guidance counsellor. Individual appointments may be made andstudents are guaranteed confidentiality.
COSTS
In line with Department of Education and Science guidelines, there are no course fees for Post-Leaving Certificate Courses. However, the cost of books, certain student services and examination fees must be borne by students. Students must pay a €100 registration fee and a €20 non-refundable deposit with the application form.
